Agapanthus 'Storm Cloud'

Agapanthus 'Storm Cloud'

Another name for this is lily of the Nile.

Shown in the photo are two colors of agapanthus, one in light blue at the upper right corner, and the darker one, a selected form with the name of 'Storm Cloud.' They are one of the glories of our late summer season. They flower the most profusely when they are old and many shoots are crowded together.

If an agapanthus is planted in the ground in our area, it will survive the winter. If it is grown in a pot, it must be protected during the winter by bringing it indoors for several months.
