This relative of snapdragons has masses of tiny lavender flowers for much of summer and is long lived. 'Natalie' is easily grown in average soil that is well drained. And can take drought once she settles into a new home and requires no special attention. Her height will be eighteen to thirty inches. The stems are very thin and her leaves are small. The overall appearance is lacey and delicate. Beyond good looks, her major blessing is being sterile. She produces no seeds. If you have grown other linarias this will please you. With others you need a full-time weeder in your household. Some wonderful perennials are easy to find for a year or two and then seem to fade from view. This plant is an example. In 2004 it was easy to find in Seattle-area nurseries. Not so since then. Hardy to USDA Zones 5 - 8.
