This is a lovely, solidly reddish flower whose season is early summer. The flowers reach a height of 2½ - 3½ feet. For a red-hot poker, it is especially winter hardy, surviving to USDA Zone 5. And it grows vigorously. It may rebloom closer to fall if watered regularly through the latter weeks of summer.
