•  common name: yarrow
•  flowering season: throughout summer
•  height: 24 inches
•  Light requirements: sun
•  Soil requirements: average soil that is well drained
•  Water requirments: needs less water than average although it enjoys regular watering throughout summer
•  Growth habit: slowly expanding clump
•  How to propagate: dividing in spring or early fall
•  Leaf type: ferny grayish leaves
•  Ways to use it: one of the “stalwarts” of a sunny flower bed -- undemanding and easy to grow
•  Special characteristics: it blooms for a very long time in the garden
•  Other points of interests: an exceptionally good cut-flower either fresh for a summer bouquet or dried for a winter bouquet -- the best way to dry the flowers is to gather and cut a handful of flower stems, wrap a rubberband around them at the base and then hang them upside down indoors out of direct sunlight

This yarrow has ferny, serrated, silver leaves, sulphur-yellow flowers and an upright habit. The flower stems reach a height of twenty-four inches and are great for cutting. 'Anthea' needs full sun and good drainage. She is especially valuable because she has demonstrated a stronger tolerance of rainy, humid conditions than other yarrows, while retaining her ability to withstand drought. Flowering begins in early summer and persists for many weeks. USDA Hardiness Zones 4-8.
